Using Compressed Air for Bridge Painting

Compressed air is everywhere. Portable diesel air compressors bring compressed air wherever it is needed: plantside, roadside, refineryside and many other jobsites.

This month’s feature application is using portable air compressors for bridge painting.

Bridges and overpasses periodically require surface preparation and repainting on the steel supports and super structures. A contractor will come in and “tent” the structure to mitigate debris and overspray from contacting cars in traffic.

Contractors typically use big air between 900-1600 cfm, but predominantly 1600 cfm with reclaimers, to perform bridge painting jobs.

Find your authorized Sullair distributor to learn more about this application and which compressor is right for you.
